Our mission is to organize a connected community, alerting to the growing importance of China in its relationship with the world. We operate with an open association policy and we are always looking for committed people to discuss China in its various aspects, political, economic, social, artistic, cultural and philosophical.
Our network is made up of informal discussion circles and high-quality conversations with renowned people, leaders in their communities and high-potential young people.
Founded in early 2020 by a group of "stubborn young people", Observa China has already undergone fundamental changes in its mission to create a network to qualify the debate on China in Portuguese.
Some of the people who founded Observa China and who are following the project's growth have already left the team, but continue to help closely. Many have studied in China, or have experience with third-sector projects. All, without exception, reflect the quality and growth potential of any initiatives in the area.
We started the project thinking of creating a network centered on city centers, starting with Chinese and Brazilian cities. However, with the rapid adoption of digital media for conferencing, we have completely changed our model to focus on centralized connection between people working with China. We created a group on WhatsApp, then a group on Slack and set up the current structure of events on Saturdays to show the world that there is, indeed, a quality debate in Portuguese.
